From the early 1920s until 1935 a regular cinema operation was ran from this building in Fore Street by Mr George Henry Bolt.  The seating capacity was 180. After 1935 Captain J H Blackhurst brought BB Cinema films here part-time.   Captain Blackhurst ran a number of part-time cinema operations in Devon. Other records show Mr Nettles would bring the cinema to Gunnislake on Wednesday and to Bere Alston (Devon) on a Friday and would charge one shilling (suggesting a later venture).
