Gone but not forgotten: Parish Hall ~ YMCA Hall ~ Triangle
Around 1916 a wooden hut was erected on Church Road and acted as a Parish Hall. From 1941 to 1953 this building became a British Restaurant, it was then converted into the YMCA Hall.
Silent film shows took place in the building from the very beginning, but it was as a YMCA hall that films were reintroduced. Run by Mrs R Wilmott of Caldicot from 1956. By 1974 the operation was run by Mr P Rush of London, he was licenced for 319 children or 546 adults, the cinema was called The Triangle at that time.
